Serengeti Wildlife Safari - 3 Days

Morning pick up from your Arusha hotel, accommodation or residence. (Extra fee for pick up from Kilimanjaro Airport). Transfer to the nearby Arusha Airport and fly to the Serengeti, Tanzania’s most famous national park. The Serengeti offers some of the best wildlife viewing in Africa and home to the greatest wildlife spectacle on earth - the Great Migration. Here, you can spot Big Five game (lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant and rhino), take a private game drive, see wildlife move across the plains from above on a hot air balloon safari, as well as explore the fascinating local ecosystems on a walking safari with a knowledgeable guide. The biggest draw of the Serengeti is the Great Migration. Every year, over two million wildebeest and zebra migrate north from the Serengeti National Park to the Masai Mara Reserve in Kenya. The herds must brave the perilous Mara River, which runs through the Masai Mara Game Reserve on the Kenyan side and Serengeti National Park on the Tanzanian side. The animals face treacherous water currents and dangerous predators as they cross the river in search of greener pastures. With crocodiles lurking in the muddy waters and lions, cheetahs, leopards and hyenas patrolling the river banks, this is a particularly dangerous time to be a wildebeest or a zebra. If you're visiting the Serengeti at the right time, you’ll see herds of wildebeest and zebra stretching to the horizon and you may be lucky enough to see the dramatic river crossings. You can also enjoy bush walks in the Serengeti led by local Maasai warriors, providing an authentic walking safari experience. All meals and overnight at Serengeti Serena Lodge. Today, you will have most of the day to continue your incredible safari in the Serengeti on a game drive south through the Ndutu region. If you are travelling in the month of February, you might be lucky to witness the calving / birthing season of the wildebeests where they give birth to about 8000 calves every year! Later in the afternoon, you'll check out of your accommodation and move onto the next leg of your safari adventure. You may also choose to spend more time at the Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara to compliment your Serengeti safari, or better still - a hop over to the paradise island of Zanzibar offers beach relaxation after safari adventures, or simply head back to Arusha for your flight home.
