  • Day 2 & 3 - Tarangire National Park : Kuro Tarangire Camp (BLD)
    Open or Close

From Arusha, your guide will drive you to the Tarangire National Park. Approximate travel time is three hours. On this afternoon's game drive you will notice the unusually shaped baobab trees, also known as the “upside-down tree”. Look up and you might find the tree climbing African pythons. This is one of the world's largest species of snakes, but do not worry, it is also a non-venomous species. Tarangire's pythons climb trees, as do its lions and leopards, lounging in the branches.

The sun-kissed plains of Tarangire National Park are home to an incredible range of wildlife. Herds of elephants, prides of lions, troops of baboons, towers of giraffes and many more impressive creatures dot the land, as the park’s lagoons and rivers lure animals with reliable, life-sustaining sources of water. Surrounding the swamps – tinged green year-round – a remarkable array of bird-life can be found; more than 500 species visit these lands. The daily game drives reveal the wonders of Tarangire National Park alongside an expert guide, enjoying a boxed lunch mid-day to ensure you have the energy needed to fully appreciate this brilliant park. We spend 2 nights at Tarangire National Park at Kuro Tarangire Camp.

Kuro Tarangire is an intimate tented camp with a distinctive wood and thatch mess, situated in one of the best game areas of Tarangire National Park. Elephant frequently wander through the camp, as do a range of other wildlife. The rooms are all en-suite and furnished to ensure complete comfort in the bush without unnecessary fuss. Despite being a camp with permanent rooms instead of traditional canvas tents, Kuro Tarangire retains the feel of a rustic bush camp, with its intimate set-up and an excellent team behind it. The stylish design and great location make it one of the best options in this beautiful park. All meals and overnights a Kuro Tarangire Camp. All meals included.

  • Day 4 & 5 - Lake Manyara National Park : Lake Manyara Tree Lodge (BLD)
    Open or Close

Your guide will drive you from Arusha to Lake Manyara Park. The trip takes approximately two hours. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled this afternoon as you set out for an afternoon game drive in search of elusive tree climbing lions. Manyara National Park is home to a number of these rare and beautiful animals, so spotting one in the midst of an afternoon nap is possible. Although there has been much debate as to why these lions climb the trees, the most commonly accepted explanation is that the lions developed this skill in order to escape the constant pestering of flies. Only lucky guests will see these animals in person, however, with the sun at full strength in the afternoon, all travelers can expect to spot a great deal of wildlife finding refuge in shaded areas.

Lake Manyara Tree Lodge offers a sophisticated blend of natural indulgence and romance. Nestled in dense forest between the lake shore and the steep Rift Valley escarpment, the lodge is perfectly positioned to explore the park’s wealth of habitats. The only lodge inside Lake Manyara National Park (others are outside the park), it offers an exclusive wildlife experience with only ten luxurious yet intimate suites located in a remote corner of the reserve, you would be surprised to see another vehicle on your game drive.

You spend 2 nights here with morning and afternoon to explore this diverse land on guided game drives. With luck, you may even spot the rare tree climbing lion while in Manyara National Park. Lake Manyara also provides great opportunities for ornithologists keen on viewing and observing over 300 migratory birds, including flamingo, the long-crested eagle and the grey-headed kingfisher. Remember if you feel like stretching, you can always opt out of any game drive and explore some of the activities at the lodge. All and overnights at Lake Manyara Tree Lodge.

  • Day 6 & 7 - Ngorongoro Crater : Crater Lodge (BLD)
    Open or Close

Your guide will drive you from Manyara to the mighty Ngorongoro Crater. The trip to this massive Tanzanian landmark will take approximately one hour. During your stay in Ngorongoro, a range of optional activities are available to you. From bush picnics to cultural visits to local Masai villages to guided wildlife discovery walks, the choice is yours. Of course, in the spectacular setting of the Ngorongoro Crater, you may prefer to simply relax at the lodge with a refreshment in hand and watch as the day unfolds before your eyes. If you would like more information on any optional activity, please speak to your safari driver guide. Ngorongoro Crater Lodge is perched on the edge of the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater at the eastern edge of the Serengeti in northern Tanzania. Lying within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, which covers more than 8 000 square kilometers (3,100 square miles) of pristine African wilderness. Inspired in design by the Maasai mud-and-stick manyatta (homestead), Ngorongoro Crater Lodge is without a doubt one of the most architecturally spectacular safari lodges in Africa.

On your second day, you make your way to the crater floor roughly 12 miles wide and some 2,000 feet deep, the trip from crater rim to floor takes approximately 45 minutes by vehicle. The extremely fertile crater floor has attracted incredibly dense populations of wildlife, and at present over 25,000 large animals call the crater home, including some of the world’s last remaining black rhinos. The crater floor is also host to some of the highest concentrations of carnivores in the world, featuring large prides of lions, packs of hyenas and solitary predators like cheetahs and jackals. A keen eye paired with expertly procured search patterns from your guide is sure to help you spot a wide range of wildlife and perhaps some of the more elusive species like leopards, servals, and bat-eared foxes. All and overnights at the Ngorongoro Crater Lodge.

  • Day 8, 9 & 10 - Central Serengeti : Kiota Tented Camp (BLD)
    Open or Close

After an early breakfast, depart towards the most famous National park in the World, the Serengeti. The driving itself, although long, is spectacular. This will be an unforgettable moment for anyone seeing it for the first time. As you progress well into the Serengeti, you will see why the name means, in local language, "endless plains". The park has 6,900 sq. mile (18,000 sq. km) and for most of it, the plains will stretch to the horizon defying your senses and perception of distances. It is the home of the Great Migration and to 2 million wildebeests, hundreds of thousands of zebras and all kinds of antelopes. As for Big Cats and large predators, it's the place of choice to look out for lions, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, with many television scenes like the famous river crossings having been filmed in this park.

Kiota is a beautiful and great value Camp, set in the central Serengeti allowing for fantastic year round game viewing, particularly if you have an interest in big cats. The Camp itself is relatively simple but very well done, offering an authentic safari experience. Sleeping under canvas in the middle of the Serengeti, surrounded by wildlife, is what life at Kioto Camp is all about. Its ideal position takes advantage of the year round game viewing, especially in the Seronera Valley, famous for its healthy populations of big cats in particular lions and cheetah. The Great Wildebeest Migration passes through twice a year too, around April/May and again in November. All meals and overnights at Kiota Tented Camp.

  • Day 11, 12 & 13 - Tracking Migrations : Chaka Mobile Camps (BLD)
    Open or Close

We came to Serengeti to see The Great Wildlife Migrations and to ensure we do exactly that, there is no better way than to go where the herds are! Kiota is a great Camp for those looking for an authentic safari experience when animals roam close to where the camp is. However, this is not the case with the ever-migrating herds of wildebeests, the zebras and other plains game. That is why this itinerar has opted to take you to where the animals are and works well with Chaka Mobile Camp, which moves from South to North with the Great Migration. Chaka Camp is a semi-permanent mobile camp located in the Serengeti eco-system.

"Chaka" means "bush" in Swahili and this is what the Chaka Camp is offering; an authentic and intimate bush experience in the middle of remarkable areas of the Serengeti's pristine wilderness. The Camp moves twice a year to ensure its guests are very well placed to witness the Great Wildebeest Migration. Chaka Camp is designed to be leightweight enough to move seasonally. It is located in the Ndutu area from December through to the end of March and the Northern Serengeti from late May through to the end of October. From December through March, the wildebeest migration moves in and out of the Ndutu area. Ndutu is located in Ngorongoro Conservation Area, just south of Serengeti National Park. Chaka Camp’s location provides easy access to prime game viewing areas around Lakes Ndutu and Masek. In addition to the almost two million wildebeest and zebra that move through the area each year, Ndutu is home to cheetah, lion, giraffe and hundreds of bird species.

During February’s calving season, the wildebeest give birth to 8,000 babies a day. From late May through October, Chaka Camp is located in Northern Serengeti. The camp is close to the Mara River, allowing easy access to several river crossing points in the area. During this time of year, the wildebeest migration is crossing the Mara River back and forth from Tanzania to Kenya. River crossings are common with crocodiles, hippos and large cats scattered throughout the area. Due to its mobile nature the 8 tents are relativly simple compared to some of the other top options in the area. It does have flush toilets and safari bucket showers, as well as large private verandahs to take in the vast and endless views of the Serengeti eco-system. There are seperate dining and lounge tents and a small bar and library. Whilst staying at Chaka you can enjoy game drives in open vehicles, romantic bush diners under the stars creating an authentic and the ultimate bush experience. All meals and overnights at Chaka Mobile Camp.

  • Day 14 - Fly to Arusha + Departure : End of Tour (BL)

  • Supplements & Surcharges
    Open or Close

SINGLE ROOM SUPPLEMENTS: Generally, group tours are priced based on a standard room charge that’s divided between two people sharing a twin or double room. If a solo traveller chooses to have their own room, they are not sharing the cost with a second traveller. The single supplement is therefore an additional charge to make up the full cost of the room. Most hotels in East and Southern Africa will charge you an extra fee for staying in a room alone! Sic! This is why, against our wish, we charge you the 'Single Room Supplement' for travelling / staying solo on your trip.

HOLIDAY / EASTER / CHRISTMAS: In addition, most hotels in East and Southern Africa charge Easter and Christmas Supplement from if your booking falls on between December 24th and Jaunuary 2nd of every year. Most Safari Lodges charge the supplement for the following dates 24, 25, 26 and 31 December and 01 January every year. The best way to avoid the supplements is to avoid travelling on dates within the mentioned dates (if possible) not only to avoid the high rates but also to avoid the huge crowds of people withnessed in the festive season travel.
