5 Days Tour: Kenya Highlights Safari

Pick up from Jomo Kenyatta Airport or your pre-booked hotel in the morning and drive to Amboseli national park famous for it’s scenery with a backdrop of snow-capped Mt. Kilimanjaro, which dominates the landscape and open plains. Despite its small size (392 sq km), this fragile ecosystem supports a wide range of mammals (well over 50 of the larger species) and birds (over 400 species). The waters from Mt. Kilimanjaro drain down the mountain under lava flows and surface in Amboseli, creating a green belt of swampland amidst dusty plains. Amboseli lacks the profusion of animal species found in the Masai Mara, but the landscape provides limited cover so we have better chances of seeing some of the larger predators present in the park which includes Elephants, buffaloes, lions, gazelles, cheetahs, wildebeest, hyenas, jackals, warthogs, Giraffes, zebra. Stopover for lunch at the lodge as we proceed into the scenic Park for a game drive returning to the lodge in the evening for a sundowner. Meals and overnight at Ol Tukai Lodge, Full Board

Early morning breakfast at your camp or lodge, as we take a long drive for Lake Nakuru National Park to arriving at your lodge in time for lunch. Enjoy some sumptuous lunch and relax before the afternoon game drive, we are likely to see a variety of birds which includes the Egyptian goose and a variety of ducks that come from Europe to winter. Since there is no existing drainage, Lake Nakuru is alkaline, the perfect place for flamingos to feed on the blue-green algae. The greater flamingo attains a height of about 4.26 feet its plumage is almost white with a pale pink, black tipped beak. It is the lesser flamingo that has the more exotic color. Different types of wildlife including the white Rhino and black rhino, cheetah, lion, leopard, Elephant, Buffalo and other members of the Big five. All Meals and overnight at the lodge. Enjoy an early morning breakfast at your lodge then depart for the Masai Mara Game Reserve arriving in time for lunch. Check in at Masai Mara Sopa lodge or similar for lunch and afternoon game drive in this famous reserve reveals wonders. Masai Mara Game Reserve offers wonderful scenery and plenty of game. It is perhaps the only region left in Kenya where a visitor may see animals in the same super abundance as existed a century ago. Explore this part of the Northern Serengeti Ecosystem where the great wildebeest migration takes place. The plain is literally covered with these animals. Grunts and other animal sounds are heard, and territorial fights are commonplace. The migration, now declared the Seventh Wonder of the World takes place from end July to September. Soak in the abundance of untamed wilderness, fresh and natural scenery, filled with exotic wildlife during our expertly guided game drives enjoyed in 4x4 vehicles. After breakfast, full day game vieiwng in Maasai mara which offers absolutely unique variety of animals. The reason being that this hilly region is both humid and fertile and is crossed by Mara and Talek rivers full of crocodiles and hippos. The abundance of water and excellent availability of food are the reasons maasai mara has greatest population of wild animals in the whole of Africa. Optional activities Includes; Maasai village visit: You can visit a maasai village to see their traditional life. Photography is NOT prohibited here. A maasai guide at the village will escort and explain to you in English about their lives. Hot air Baloon safari: Float in the breeze over the Savannah in a balloon that give you a unique vantage point and toast your return to earth with a champagne breakfast. Early morning balloon safari you drift above the browsing game and have tremendous opportunities for unusual photographs. Full Board

Another early morning game drive in Mara, then depart after breakfast and drive back to Nairobi arriving approx. 13:00hrs. Drop at your hotel or transfer to the airport for onward flight home. No accommodation (End of tour). Approx transit time: 5½ hrs. Meal plan: [B].
