Southern Tanzania Safari - 12 Days / 11 Nights

Upon arrival at dare s salaam airport you will meet with our safari driver who will transfer you to Southern Sun Hotel in Dar es salaam for overnight stay booked on bed and breakfast with optional activities at an extra cost. This upscale hotel in an area with foreign embassies is a 3-minute walk from the Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre, 7 km from Coco Beach and 13 km from Julius Nyerere International Airport. A welcome dinner and a safari briefing tonight at the hotel by our tours director. Overnight at Southern Sun Hotel in Dar es salaam (D)

On the first Day, we will leave Dar es salaam with packed lunch, and drive to selous. The drive will take about 6 hrs, reaching selous, we will have one evening boat safari, and stay overnight at Selous Hippo camp on FB Baiss. On the second and third day, we will be having two - full day game drive in Selous game reserve. Our full day game drives will take us to the most interesting parts of the reserve where we will be able to get some nice views of, Elephants, hippos, giraffes, zebras, lions, gnus, and if lucky - wild dogs and leopard. Every morning after breakfast, we will leave the lodge with packed lunches and spend the whole day in the park for game drive, lunch will be provided in the bush, dinner and overnight stay will be served at the camp located not far from Selous Gate (Mtemere gate), and located on the shores of the great Rufiji river - All meals included - Rufiji River Camp (Full Board).

Drive from Selous to Mikumi. After breakfast, we will leave with our packed lunches for our last drive through Selous game reserve to its North West gate (Matambwe gate) where we will check out of Selous, before proceeding with our beautiful drive through the scenic – Uluguru Mountains to Morogoro, then Mikumi National park. The drive will take about 8 -9 hours; picnic will be arranged on the way. Reaching Mikumi, we will have game drive enrouted to Vuma Hills Camp where we will spend our night on FB basis. After breakfast the follwing morning, we will leave Vuma Hills Camp with packed lunch and spend the whole day in Mikumi Park. Picnic will be arranged in one of the beautiful picnic sites of the park, while experiencing abundant of wildlife; from Elephants, Lions, Giraffe, Leopard, Hippos, Buffalo, Zebras, Elands, warthogs, Wildebeest to small antelopes like Impala, Reedbucks, and dukes. After excursion, we will return back to Vuma Hills Camp for a swim, cold drinks, delicious dinner and overnight. Vuma Hills Camp (Full Board)

Early morning drives in Mikumi park followed by breakfast at 1045hrs in your accommodation, after breakfast relax at leisure until lunch hours before you travel to Udzungwa Mountains National park arriving in the mid afternoon. Evening rest and relax at leisure waiting for dinner and overnight at udzungwa hondo hondo forest camp in Udzungwa Mountains National Park. The following morning, after breakfast, we have a a walking safari in this beautiful Park enjoying and experience the stunning natural beauty of the park. Lunch in the bush then proceed exploring the area, wonderful waterfall, endemic red colobus monkey and the beautiful scenery with a lot of butterflies, evening experience the Sun Set before return to the Camp for dinner and overnight at Udzungwa Forest Tented Camp. Drive from Udzungwa Mountains to Ruaha National Park: (takes approximately 6 /7 Hrs drive). Today we will leave Udzungwa immediately after breakfast and drive along the rift valley to Iringa town before proceeding to Ruaha National park. Ruaha National Park is the largest national park in Tanzania. It covers an area of about 13,000 square kilometres. The name of the park is derived from the Great Ruaha River, which flows along its South-Eastern margin and is the focus for game-viewing. It is located in the middle of Tanzania about 130 kilometres from Iringa. The park is part of a more extensive ecosystem, which includes Rungwa Game Reserve, Usangu Game Reserve, and several other protected areas. Reaching Iringa, we will have lunch and after lunch we will have chance to explore the beautiful local market – rub shoulders with the local people who are always friendly, then proceed to Ruaha National park. Here we stay for 3 nights. Everyday we enjoy full day game drives in Ruaha National park along its famous river (Ruaha river) where there is abundant of wildlife; from Elephants, Lions, Giraffe, Leopard, Hippos, Buffalo, Zebras, Elands, Greater and Lesser Kudus to small antelopes like Impala, grant gazelle, and dukes. Lunch will be provided from one of the picnic sites inside the park. In one of the two evenings (among the two days) we will have chance to visit - nearby Maasai village where we will have chance to interact with them and see their way of life. The Maasai people will welcome and show you inside their houses, you will also get chance to participate on their activities like milking the cows, cooking, art work etc. All meals and overnights at Ruaha River Lodge (Full Board).

We have our last game drive this morning and after breakfast, you'll check out of your accommodation and you will be transferred to Ruaha Airstrip in the Ruaha National Park for your flight back to Dar es salaam. The two-hour flight takes us to Dar es salaam, where we have dayrooms at a quiet hotel outside the city. There is time to rest, shower and prepare for flights home this evening. This marks the end of your Southern Tanzania Wildlife Safari Adventure (Room Only).
