David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust is one of the most pioneering animal rehabilitation centers in the world. Young orphan elephants and rhinos, the victims of poaching and human-wildlife conflicts, are nurtured back to health. To date, it is the proud mother over 150 infant elephants. Between 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. daily, visitors can watch the slurps and gurgles of young orphans being fed as their keepers skillfully administer their supersize feeding bottles. If you’re moved by this humble feat, adopt a young orphan elephant for $50 and follow its inspiring journey first-hand.

The AFEW (African Fund for Endangered Wildlife) Giraffe Centre is located in Langata, just outside Nairobi. It was established in order to protect the endangered giraffe, that is found only in the grasslands of East Africa. The Giraffe Centre is open from 9 AM to 5 PM, seven days a week. Feeding and tours operate throughout this time. The Giraffe Center is located in Lang'ata, approximately 20 kilometres from the centre of Nairobi, Kenya. The Giraffe Centre in Nairobi is an amazing place to visit. A visit to the Giraffe Centre is the perfect activity to do when stopping over in Nairobi or before heading off on a Kenya safari. Giraffes come to you during feeding times where you feed them with your own hands, touch even 'kiss' them!
